Candidate Romney

Last Saturday Republican candidate Mitt Romney revealed his running mate for November election. The chosen one is congressman Paul Ryan,  responsible by a highlighted plan to the country's budget balance. I was in Manassas, Virginia, in the first rally after the announcement of Ryan as vice-president candidate.

The calm city was invaded by thousands of people. Republican carried their banners denouncing what they believe to be a terrible Democrat administration. More than an ideological division, this campaign reveals a ethnic division. I didn't fail to notice that less than 2 of each 100 people supporting Romney/Ryan at the rally was not caucasian.

Across the street a little group supported Obama. 8 in each 10 were black.

After 2 hours in line, beneath an inclement sun, I could listen to Republican's ideas. Ryan highlighted economic aspects and the fact that president Obama was not able to create the jobs he promised.

Following, Romney saluted his partner and for the first time was objective about his government's plan. He highlighted five points: 1) investment in energy (coal, oil); in education to increase the skill of workers; 3) in trade to recover markets lost to China, mainly in Latin America; 4) cut spending; 5) investment in small business to create the jobs USA needs.

Of course he guaranteed he will going to end Obamacare. Also he said he will fight China on the issue of their undervalued currency.
In 4 months this is the first time I saw same content in candidate Romney. So far, his campaign was only about the flaws of Obama's administration. Picking Ryan helped him a lot among young voters, a demographics more favorable to Obama.
